Our History

One thing you should know about Evans Plumbing & Heating is that we have been providing expert service for more than a century. First founded by Silas J. Evans, our company began offering plumbing and heating services to the Triple Cities in 1917.

Upon retiring, Mr. Evans left the business to Kenneth to run with his two sons. While demand in the area had dropped off, Kenneth worked diligently to rebuild the business and serve the community as well as possible. As development ramped up in the area in the 1950s, Evans Plumbing & Heating provided plumbing and heating for many of the new schools and other facilities.

Since 1997, the business has been carried on by K. David’s two sons, Tom and Jim. Today, Evans Plumbing & Heating is a staple of the community and has a reputation for honesty and integrity that only more than 100 years in business can build.

OUR HISTORY

Evans Plumbing and Heating, Inc. is proud to be over 100 years old!

1917

Silas J. Evans came to the Triple Cities after learning the plumbing and heating trade in Scranton, Pennsylvania and the surrounding farm communities.

1939

Mr. Evans retired leaving the business to Kenneth with the assumption that he and his two sons would continue on. Work in IBM had dropped off and Ken found himself with very little work. He slowly started again to rebuild the business from the roots and worked for home owners in the community.

1950's

Many new schools were built from the early 1950’s and on and Evans Plumbing and Heating was awarded the job to install the plumbing and heating required in many of them.

1997

The business in being carried on by K. David’s two sons, Tom & Jim. They have grown to a company that can fill the need of any plumbing and heating repair or installation. They hope to continue to serve the community with the same honesty and integrity that the business was built on 100 years ago for many more years to come.

2021

Tom and Jim sold the company to Austin Schmidt and Cody Chandler who have continued the

Evans Plumbing and Heating legacy of being a locally owned and operated company serving

the Greater Broome area. They hope to continue to serve the community with the same

honesty and integrity that the business was built on over 100 years ago for many more years

to come.
